Newman is the first player in Cape Cod League history to win the batting title in two consecutive years. His approach at the plate is very mature, and his discipline helps him fight through at-bats to get on base. Power is not a plus for Newman however, and neither is his arm, range, or speed, leading scouts to believe that he will eventually move to 2B.
