| Draft Information | Offense
Strengths • Controls offense well • Good ball-handler, gets good penetration • Solid decision maker on Pick & Roll • Good shot selection Weaknesses • Perimeter shot needs to be more consistent and needs to add range • Just average speed – doesn’t push the ball quickly • Court vision could improve Defense Strengths • Good on-ball defender • Uses body well – keeps self between man and basket • Good help defender Weaknesses • Not a great athlete, has problem guarding out in open space • Needs to close better on shooters Analysis Johnson has proved to be a steady, efficient point guard, keeping the Nevada offense moving and making his teammates look good. He runs the pick and rolls well, and has a good first step to the basket. He goes strong to the basket off of penetration and is a good decision maker. His perimeter shot needs work, especially his consistency and range from 17 feet out. Johnson is an average defender, doing a good job staying between his man and the basket, though he doesn’t have outstanding foot speed. He also needs to work on closing on shooters. - Ed Isaacson |
