Strengths: Russell is a very solid combo guard who showed his worth leading Ohio State last year. He is a natural when it comes to the game of basketball, and he can seemingly pass and dribble through defenses at will. Russell shows potential to be either a point or shooting guard at the NBA level, and his mindset and confidence for a freshman are superb. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him picked higher due to his great upside.
Weaknesses: If Russell were to become a point guard at the NBA level, he will have some work to do in order to become fluent. He is not an eye-popping athlete like past top guards, so he will have to use his length and smart play to his advantage. Russell’s consistency and shot selection should improve with more experience.
