Strengths: There’s nothing eye-popping about this freshman’s numbers at Kentucky, but if you watch him play, you know he belongs in the NBA. Booker is a very smart basketball player with a very efficient three-point shot. He can catch and shoot as well as create shots off-the-dribble. Booker will be a great addition to any team’s offense. Not to be overlooked, his solid perimeter defense is something his NBA team will cherish. Booker showed off for scouts during the NBA Combine despite not partaking in the five-on-five portion and recorded the most impressive results for the agility test out of the entire list of prospects. That will certainly help improve his draft stock, as overall athleticism has been a point of skepticism surrounding him in the past.
Weaknesses: Booker does not have the best leaping ability, so his sharp-shooting makes up for this fact. Yet being an incomplete player certainly hurts his draft stock. NBA teams will likely have an answer for Booker’s offensive contributions, so it will be interesting to see if he can create a more balanced game for himself at the next level.
