Strengths • Strong body, can take hits well • 3 point range • Takes the ball strong to the basket, and finishes well • Smooth moving • Draws fouls • Can post up other small forwards Weaknesses • Needs to improve free throw shooting • Prone to lazy passes • Tries to force plays in the lane Defense Strengths • Good ball defender • Rebounds well Weaknesses • Gets caught out of position away from the ball • Goes for ball fakes too often Analysis Harris has had an impressive freshman year for Gonzaga, though he is not your typical freshman. Harris is already twenty years old and a veteran of international competition. He is a very confident player, and has made a very smooth transition to NCAA ball. On offense, he has the ability to hit the perimeter shot and take the ball strong to the basket. He draws a good amount of fouls, but he needs to work on his free throw shooting to capitalize on it. Defensively, Harris has shown a good knack for defending his player when he has the ball, but seems to get lost in space when his man is away from the ball, thus he is prone to quick cuts and screens to get his man the ball. He is a definite NBA level player who will only get better as he plays better competition. - Ed Isaacson |
