Strengths • Excellent ballhandler • Sees the court well – good passer • Runs the fast break well • Good speed Weaknesses • Prone to over-penetration • Needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooter • Decision making - looks to make too many spectacular plays • Moving without the ball Defense Strengths • Good on-ball defender • Quick hands and feet – very disruptive Weaknesses • Gambles too often • Trouble getting through screens • Tends to reach at ball a lot • Gets caught out of position Analysis Bledsoe has done a good job distinguishing himself as the 2nd point guard on a team with John Wall. He has shown good potential to be a top-notch point guard, though he does need to improve his decision-making. He is an average perimeter shooting and has improved his range this season. On defense, he can be a disruptive force when he wants to be, though he does struggle a bit against more physical guards. He certainly has the ability to be a starting NBA point guard as long as he keeps working on improving his weak spots. - Ed Isaacson |
