Analysis

Vasquez is an intriguing point guard prospect because of his size. At 6’6, he would have a great height advantage over many point guards, though he is not a good enough athlete to stay with the smaller guards. On offense, he does a good job running a team, though he tries to force many plays that aren’t there. Also, he has a horrible habit of jumping before he makes some passes, and often can get caught in the air if the passing lane closes. He is a streak shooter, and he needs to improve on squaring to the basket before shooting. On defense, his size and long arms give him a nice advantage, though he often plays back on his heels to prevent other guards from going by him. If Vasquez can work on some of the fundamentals, he has the potential to be a decent NBA point guard.
