Analysis

Henson, while not having a great season, did show some flashes during his freshman year to why he was considered one of the best high school players in the country. He is a fantastic athlete, has great length and long arms, and runs the court well. He has good basketball instincts and sees the court very well. His largest problem, on both ends of the court, is his lack of strength. He is unable to establish solid post position on offense and defense, and he has trouble finishing strong at the basket. Defensively, he is a very good shot blocker and does a good job rotating over as a help defender. Besides getting stronger, Henson needs to become more aggressive on the defensive end, looking to dominate and keep offensive players out of the lane. While he is clearly skilled enough to play at the NBA level, he really needs time for his body to mature and to become stronger.
