Strengths • Fundamentally sound around the basket – works hard to get position • Long arms – shoots easily over defenders • Good instinct for offensive rebounds • Good speed for size – runs floor well Weaknesses • Needs to get stronger to avoid being pushed off blocks • Needs to be more assertive looking for shots • Limited range – 7-10 feet Defense Strengths • Quick leaper – blocks shots well • Moves feet well – good help defender Weaknesses • Lack of strength affects post defense and rebounding Analysis Rolle has shown good improvement since his Freshman year at LSU. Offensively, his touch around the basket has improved, and he has become a much more active offensive rebounder. He still needs to bulk up a bit to be more effective in the post, and he should work on his range from 10 to 15 feet. On defense, his lack of bulk also affects his post presence as well as his rebounding. He gets pushed around easily by stronger players. He has good length which helps him block and alter shots, and he does a good job as a help defender. Rolle may be a marginal player at best unless he improves upon these weaknesses. - Ed Isaacson |
