Analysis

Pondexter has done a great job this season showing that he deserves a chance to play in the NBA. While he is a classic tweener (small forward size – power forward game) he has been able to score and rebound effectively. On offense, he has developed a nice-mid range jump shot and crashes the boards well. He has a good knack for being in the right spot to score quick points. Defensively, his size/position issue has more of a negative effect. He isn’t as quick as many small forwards, so he is prone to getting beat off the dribble, and if he tries to handle bigger forwards, he doesn’t have the bulk to stop them from getting to the basket. However, he is a high energy player and competes for all 40 minutes. His work ethic alone will give him a good shot of playing at the next level.
