Analysis

White has put up a sophomore year consistent with his freshman year – some brilliant moments interspersed with frustrating moments. While he did not take the leap many expected in his second season, White still is one of the better players in the SEC. On offense, he combines a quick release with better than average range which forces defenders to play him out deep. He now needs to work on taking advantage of these scenarios and slash to the basket. He has good ballhandling and passing skills, so not only could he create shots for himself, but for his teammates. He is a steady influence on the offense, but needs to harness the ability to take over games when needed. On defense, White does a solid job playing the ball, but if his man is off the ball, White seems to lose focus and gets caught on his heels when the ball works its way back to him. He is also a solid rebounder at both ends, for his size. If White can take his game to the next level – becoming an all-around threat – he should be able to secure plenty of minutes in the NBA.
