Previous

1

Ohio State

14-1

W:#2 Oregon 42-20 National Champsionship Game

4

An improbable run, one that DIsney could produce as an epic movie sometime in the future.

2

Oregon

13-2

L:#4 Ohio State 20-42 National Championship Game

2

Oregon has made it to the final twice within four years but have yet to walk away champions.

3

TCU

12-1

W:#14 Ole Miss 42-3 Peach Bowl

5

A statement game by TCU but it falls on deaf ears with Ohio State winning it all. Right now if you were to ask me which team has the most returning talent with a chance to unseat the Buckeyes...this is the team.

4

Alabama

12-2

L:#4 Ohio State 35-42 Sugar Bowl

1

Alabama fans should feel a little better now knowing they lost to the eventual National Champion.

5

Michigan State

11-2

W:#6 Baylor 42-41 Cotton Bowl

12

The best comeback of all the Bowl games and Conner Cook will return for his senior season. Some may question why this team with two losses is ahead of Florida State, those losses were against Oregon and Ohio State.

6

Florida State

13-1

L:#2 Oregon 20-59 Rose Bowl

3

The magic for Jameis and company finally ran out but Jameis is still a better pro prospect than Marcus Mariotta in my eyes.

7

Baylor

11-2

L:#12 Michigan State 41-42 Cotton Bowl

6

Even with losing Bryce Petty, Baylor is well stocked and poised to take a share of the Big 12 once again.

8

Georgia Tech

11-3

W:#11 Mississippi State 49-34 Orange Bowl

13

The Yellow Jackets were the least appreciated team for 2014 and their win against Mississippi State shocked a lot of people.

9

UCLA

10-3

W:#7 Kansas State 40-35 Alamo Bowl

16

One of the most troubling teams to watch this season. At times this looked like a playoff team and other times they couldn't get out of their own way.

10

Missouri

11-3

W:#25 Minnesota 33-17 Citrus Bowl

11

Two straight seasons finishing as the runner up in the SEC is quite an accomplishment.

11

Mississippi State

10-3

L: #13 Georgia Tech 34-49 Orange Bowl

9

Still a very successful year for Mississippi State who spent a few weeks as the top team in the land.

12

Georgia

10-3

W:#21 Louisville 37-14 Belk Bowl

15

The heat might be getting turned up on Mark Richt, the Bulldogs have been close but if they fail to make the SEC title game next year Georgia may be in the market for a coach.

13

Boise State

12-2

W:#10 Arizona 38-38 Orange Bowl

22

Every few years Boise State seems to pop up and surprise everyone. Will Boise State make the leap like TCU did a few years ago and join the Big 12? Seems like it has paid off for the Horned Frogs. Boise State has now won the Fiesta Bowl three times in eight years.

14

Wisconsin

11-3

W:#17 Auburn 34-31 OT Outback Bowl

8

11 wins for the Badgers who bounce back after the embarrasing loss against Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship.

15

Arizona State

10-3

W:#31 Duke 36-31

18

Big year for football in the state of Arizona. The Cardinals got off to a great start in the NFL before injuries set in and the last time Arizona State and Arizona each won 10 games in a season was....never.

16

Clemson

10-3

W:#20 Oklahoma 40-6 Russell Athletic Bowl

19

After starting 1-2 with losses to Georgia and Florida State, Clemson played well down the stretch. The only additional loss on the season came against Georgia Tech meaning Clemson handled their business against weaker opponents.

17

Arizona

10-4

L:#22 Boise State 30-38 Fiesta Bowl

10

Time ran out on the Wildcats while putting together a drive that could have tied the game. I had this team ranked #40 in the preseason so they exceeded expectations.

18

Kansas State

9-4

L:#16 UCLA 35-40 Alamo Bowl

7

Kansas State played a great second half against UCLA. All four of their losses came against teams ranked within the top 20 at the time they played them.

19

Utah

9-4

W:#28 Colorado State 45-10 Las Vegas Bowl

27

The Utes were fun to watch and it seemed like every game came down to the wire. Devontae Booker will be one of the top returning running backs in the land for next season if he stays for his senior season.

20

Ole Miss

9-4

L:#5 TCU 3-42 Peach Bowl

14

The team facing TCU after being snubbed for the playoffs was walking into a buzzsaw. Ole Miss is starting to win a lot of recruiting wars against other powerhouse SEC schools.

21

Marshall

13-1

W:#35 Northern Illinois 52-23 Boca Raton Bowl

23

Wonderful year for Marshall as they showed a strong running game and speedy defense to go along with Rakeem Cato and the passing ability everyone knew they had.

22

USC

9-4

W:#26 Nebraska 45-42 Holiday Bowl

29

USC looks like a potential top 5 team to start next season.

23

Auburn

8-5

L: #8 Wisconsin 31-34 OT Outback Bowl

17

Auburn couldn't get the breaks they got a season ago and the wheels fell off late in the season.

24

Memphis

10-3

W:BYU Miami Beach Bowl 55-48 2OT

30

Seven wins in a row to end the season but the bloody fight with BYU after the game was over tarnished a terrific finish.

25

Louisville

9-4

L:#15 Georgia 14-37 Belk Bowl

21

Great first year in the ACC and the team showed they belong in the conference.

26

Minnesota

8-5

L:#11 Missouri 17-33 Citrus Bowl

25

Minnesota has snuck up on teams the last two seasons, don't see that happening anymore.

27

Nebraska

9-4

L:#29 USC 42-45 Holiday Bowl

26

The AB period begins (After Bo).

28

Texas A&M

8-5

W:#40 West Virginia 45-37 Liberty Bowl

32

We'll see what kind of coach Kevin Sumlin is as things were a little rocky internally to end the season. With Kenny Hill looking to transfer Kyle Allen has the controls of the offense.

29

Stanford

8-5

W:Maryland 45-21 Foster Farms Bowl

36

The only team besides Oregon to finish above .500 in the Pac-12 North.

30

Air Force

10-3

W:Western Michigan 38-24 Potato Bowl

39

Terrific season for the Cadets and they were the only team in conference to defeat Boise State.

31

Notre Dame

8-5

W:#24 LSU 31-28 Music City Bowl

NR

The change at quarterback for the bowl game paid off for the Fighting Irish.

32

LSU

8-5

L:Notre Dame 28-31 Music City Bowl

24

Another team that looks like they will have a very bright future in 2015.

33

Oklahoma

8-5

L:#19 Clemson Russell Athletic Bowl 6-40

20

Oklahoma gets my vote for most disappointing team for 2014, this was a squad I and many others had ranked in the top 5 preseason.

34

Colorado State

10-3

L:#27 Utah 10-45 Las Vegas Bowl

28

Exceeded expecatations with a grand year despite ending with a pair of losses.

35

Duke

9-4

L:#18 Arizona State 31-36 Sun Bowl

31

Another nice season but another bowl loss means the bowl drought now stands at 55 years as Duke's last Bowl win was the 1960 Cotton Bowl.

36

Northern Illinois

11-3 L:#23 Marshall 23-52 Boca Rotan Bowl NR

Oregon has won 59 games over the last five years which is tops at the FBS level, second with 57...Northern Illinois.

37

NC State

8-5

W:#37 UCF 34-27 St. Petersburg Bowl

NR

A respectable season for the Wolfpack who have been looking for positives with the football program for a few years now.

38

Arkansas

7-6

W:Texas 31-7

NR

This could be a top 15 team heading into next season with the best running back duo in the country.

39

Florida

7-5

W:#38 East Carolina 28-20 Birmingham Bowl

NR

All five losses were against ranked teams and they scored an upset over Georgia. We will have to see how the team responds to a new coaching regime.

40

Utah State

10-4

W:UTEP 21-6 New Mexico Bowl

NR

Another 10 win season for the Aggies.

Dropped Out: Washington, Cincinnati, UCF, East Carolina, West Virginia.
