1

Alabama

14-1

W:#2 Clemson 45-40 National Championship Game

1

Nick Saban brings another National Title to the Crimson Tide.

2

Clemson

14-1 L:#1 Alabama 40-45 National Championship Game 2

What a season for Clemson, it's a shame someone had to lose that Championship Game....Clemson can hold their heads high.

3

Ohio State

12-1 W:#10 Notre Dame 44-28 Fiesta Bowl 6

Didn't get another crack at Alabama but another 12-win season for the Buckeyes and their recruiting classes have been silly....silly good that is.

4

Oklahoma 11-2 L:#2 Clemson 17-37 Orange Bowl

4

The Sooners will have plenty of returning talent for next years team...no reason they cannot challange for the playoffs again.

5

Stanford

12-2

W:#5 Iowa 45-16 Rose Bowl

7

Oregon has been seen as the top program in the Pac 12 the last few seasons but the tide seems to have swung towards Stanford.

6

Michigan State

12-2 L:#1 Alabama 0-38 Cotton Bowl 3

After a competitive Championship Game for the Big 10 title, Michigan State and Iowa laid giant eggs in their bowl appearances.

7

Iowa

12-2 L:#7 Stanford 16-45 Rose Bowl

5

See above comment.

8

Houston

13-1 W:#9 Florida State 38-24 Peach Bowl 12

13 wins against only 1 loss. The loss came when Greg Ward Jr. was injured and not playing quarterback leaving a big "what if" for Cougar fans.

9

TCU

11-2 W:#9 Florida State 38-24 Peach Bowl 11

Easily the best comeback win of the Bowl season.

10

Baylor 10-3 W:#8 North Carolina 49-38 Russell Athletic Bowl 16

The ground game was prepared against North Carolina and Baylor looked like the offenisve juggernaught from earlier in the year.

11

Ole Miss

10-3 W:#14 Oklahoma State 48-20 Sugar Bowl 18

Ole Miss payed a flawless first half against Oklahoma State and just went into cruise control.

12

North Carolina

11-3 L: #16 Baylor 38-49 Russell Athletic Bowl 8

Baylor ground game tore the Tar Heels apart, still a fine year for the Tar Heels in the ACC.

13

Florida State

10-3 L:#12 Houston 24-38 Peach Bowl 9

Almost became accustomed to Florida State winning the ACC every year, this will be good for the ACC in the long run.

14

Notre Dame 10-3 L:#6 Ohio State 28-44 Fiesta Bowl 10

Had to put the Irish a spot above Navy based upon their regular season encounter and victory over the Midshipmen.

15

Navy

11-2 W:#39 Pittsburgh 44-28 Military Bowl 19

Enjoyed watching Keenan Reynolds end his brialliant career on a high note.

16

Utah

10-3 W:#33 BYU 35-28 Las Vegas Bowl 20

Nice rebound late while decimated by injury but the season felt like it could have been even greater for the Utes.

17

Michigan

10-3 W:#15 Florida 41-7 Citrus Bowl 21

I'd say season 1 under Coach Harbaugh was a rousing success.

18

LSU 9-3 W:Texas Tech 56-27 Texas Bowl 23

Offense needs more balance but LSU always recruits superior athletes.

19

Wisconsin

10-3 W:#26 USC 23-21 Holiday Bowl 24

Wisconsin finally scores a big win, something they lacked all year long.

20

Western Kentucky 12-2 W:#37 South Florida 45-35 Miami Beach Bowl 25

Tough task playing a hot South Florida team in their backyard and still scoring a victory.

21

Oklahoma State

10-3 L:#18 Ole Miss 20-48 Sugar Bowl 14

The Cowboys simply ran out of gas down the stretch.

22

Florida

10-4 L:#21 Michigan 7-41 Citrus Bowl 15

Florida overachieved early in the season but a 10-win campaign and an SEC Championship game appearance for a new coach is nothing to take lightly.

23

Mississippi State 9-4 W:NC State 51-28 Belk Bowl 27

Dak Prescott finished his college career in style.

24

Tennessee 9-4 W: #13 Northwestern 45-6 Outback Bowl 36

Tennessee football is back and the program seems to be in good shape for the next few seasons.

25

Toledo 10-2 W:#22 Temple 32-17 Boca Raton Bowl 31

Toledo got back to playing outstanding defense and beat Temple at their own game.

26

Northwestern

10-3 L:#36 Tennessee 6-45 Outback Bowl 13

Northwestern looked lost down the stretch but coach Pat Fitzgerald got everything and more out of this overachieveing squad. This team shouldn't have been anywhere near 10 victories.

27

Oregon

9-4 L:#11 TCU 41-47 3OT Alamo Bowl 17

Wheels came off for Oregon when Vernan Adams left with an injury.

28

Georgia

10-3 W:Penn State 24-17 TaxSlayer Bowl 32

Easily the quietest 10 win team in the land as the Bulldogs survived a furious Penn State comeback in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

29

Temple

10-4
L:#31 Toledo 17-32 Boca Raton Bowl
22

Another team nobody would have thought would come close to 10 wins in 2015.

30

Washington State

9-4 W:Miami 20-14 Sun Bowl 28

The Cougars win and drop two spots....if you saw this ugly football game it wouldn't be a mystery to you.

31

San Diego State 11-3 W:Cincinnati 42-7 Hawaii Bowl NR

A team that snuck up on many and showed great balance on both sides of the football.

32

Arkansas

8-5 W:Kansas State 34-18 Liberty Bowl 40

A fun team to watch but they lose a ton of talent to the draft through graduation and early departure this season.

33

Boise State

9-4 W:Northern Illinois 55-7 Poinsettia Bowl NR

Brett Rypien will have Boise State higher in these rankings in the coming years.

34

West Virginia

8-5 W:Arizona State 43-42 Cactus Bowl NR

The Mountaineers lost a lot on defense through injury this year and a number of young players stepped up.

35

USC 8-6 L:#24 Wisconsin 21-23 Holiday Bowl 26

Just a weird year for USC...let's hope the drama is now behind them.

36

Memphis 9-4 L:Auburn 10-31 Birmingham Bowl 29

The statement win during the middle of the year against Ole Miss had many of us expecting more from Memphis but they withered late.

37

Cal

8-5 W:Air Force 55-36 Armed Forces Bowl NR

Cal beat all the teams they should and while not scoring any big victories, they were competitive and continue to move forward even with the impending departure of quarterback Jared Goff.

38

Louisville 8-5 W:#35 Texas A&M 27-21 Music City Bowl NR

Tough start to the season but the defense flexed their muscle down the stretch and the offense eliminated the turnover problems that plagued them early in September.

39

UCLA 8-5 L:Nebraska 29-37 Foster Farms Bowl 30

The only consistent thing about UCLA this season was the inconsistency they displayed.

40

BYU

9-4 L:#20 Utah 28-35 Las Vegas Bowl 33

Will see what the Cougars look like with a new head coach in 2016.

Dropped Out:  Bowling Green, Texas A&M, South Florida, Miami, Pittsburgh.
