1

Alabama

10-1

W:Charleston Southern 56-6

2

Easy Alabama haters, yes this was Charleston Southern but this came on the heels of back-to-back wins over Mississippi State and LSU by a combined score of 61-22.

2

Clemson

11-0 W:Wake Forest 33-13 3

Date with North Carolina has been set. The Tigers now need to avoid a letdown game against rival South Carolina. Oddly enough South Carolina is the only team to beat UNC this year....hmmmm.

3 Michigan State 10-1 W:#1 Ohio State 17-14 10

The Spartans take down the Buckeyes with a backup quarterback. Think of where this team would be if not for the blown call against Nebraska...likely #1.

4

Iowa 11-0 W:Purdue 40-20

6

Looking forward to a likely Big Ten title game with Michigan State.

5

Notre Dame

10-1

W:Boston College 19-16

5

Five turnovers and the Irish still win. No way Notre Dame can play like that against Stanford or they will find themselves with a second loss.

6

Ohio State

10-1 L:#10 Michigan State 14-17 1

Not a lot of harmony in the locker room after this loss....yikes.

7

Oklahoma

10-1 W:#9 TCU 30-29

7

The Sooners can't go without Baker Mayfield for too long.

8

Baylor

9-1 W:#4 Oklahoma State 45-35 11

Chris Johnson hadn't thrown a pass all year and in emergency duty throws for 2 and runs for another.

9

Florida

10-1 W:Florida Atlantic 20-14 OT 8

Did the Gators get caught looking ahead to the SEC title game? They still have a very capable Florida State team left on the schedule.

10

Oklahoma  State 10-1 L:#11 Baylor 35-45 3

We constantly preach about offenses that are not properly balanced. Oklahoma State had 23 carries against Baylor for 8 yards...that my friends is an unbalanced offense.

11

North Carolina

10-1 W:Virginia Tech 30-27 OT 13

This team has a chance against Clemson. Beating Virginia Tech on the road in Frank Beamer's last game in Blacksburg...no easy task.

12

Stanford

9-2 W:Cal 35-22 14

Christian McCaffrey is starting to become a household name.

13

Florida State

9-2 W:Chattanooga 52-13 15

Dalvin Cook has the ability to beat the Gators if he finds running lanes against Florida.

14

Navy 9-1 W:Tulsa 44-21 16

Most people predicted an AAC team would be a threat for a BCS bowl....it's just that nearly everyone thought that team would be Memphis or Houston.

15

TCU

9-2 L:#7 Oklahoma 29-30 9

The injuries are continuing to mount for the Horned Frogs.

16

Michigan

9-2 W:#39 Penn State 28-16 17

The defense needed to step up. Allowing 207 yards to a balanced team like Penn State while scoring a touchdown in every quarter was a nice statement.

17

Northwestern

9-2 W:#21 Wisconsin 13-7 20

One has to wonder if Pat Fitzgerald can be lured away from Northwestern...there could be some schools interested in his services.

18

Washington State 8-3 W:Colorado 27-3 22

Mike Leach has made believers out of every Pac 12 fan...nobody wants to play Washington State right now.

19

Oregon

8-3 W:#25 USC 48-28 23

Vernon Adams put on a precision clinic against USC.

20

Houston

10-1 L:Connecticut 17-20 12

Easily the most surprising result of the weekend.

21

Ole Miss

8-3 W:#19 LSU 38-17 24

Ole Miss played well but they caught reeling LSU at a good time....for the Rebels.

22

Mississippi State

8-3 W:#37 Arkansas 51-50 26

If you missed this game you missed a real barnburner. It felt like these teams could have scored through the night had you let them. Despite the 51-50 score there were a lot of big defensive plays...which seems to defy logic.

23

Toledo 9-1 W:#29 Bowling Green 44-28 31

The Toledo defense is back and they just made a huge statement.

24

UCLA 8-3 W:#18 Utah 17-9 33

UCLA continues to be the hardest team in America to figure out.

25

Texas A&M 8-3 W:Vanderbilt 25-0 27

Texas A&M will be the next team to get a crack at the fading LSU Tigers.

26

Utah

8-3 L:#33 UCLA 9-17 18

This season looked so full of promise.....seems so long ago now.

27

Pittsburgh

8-3 W:Lousiville 45-34 32

Pittsburgh continues to exceed expectations. 45 points against Louisville was downright shocking.

28

Temple

9-2 W:#28 Memphis 31-12 34

Tyler Matakevich is now over 100 tackles for the year....again. Not many linebackers can claim they did that in all four years at their respective school.

29

LSU

7-3 L:#24 Ole Miss 17-38 19

Les Miles on the way out? Seems like more than a rumor.

30

Wisconsin

8-3 L:#20 Northwestern 7-13 21

The Badgers haven't been able to deliver a big victory this season. They are a good team but far from great.

31

Western Kentucky 9-2 W:Florida International 63-7 35

This program has steadily improved every season since joining the FBS.

32

USC

7-4 L:#23 Oregon 28-48 25

Defense had no answers against Oregon.

33

Memphis

8-3 L:#34 Temple 12-31 28

We weren't buying Memphis going undefeated but three losses, this team is reeling and their defensive performances have been head scratching.

34

Georgia

8-3 W:Georgia Southern 23-17 OT 30

The Bulldogs were almost dethroned by Georgia Southern for top team in the state.

35

Northern Illinois 8-3 W:Western Michigan 27-19 36

This is a school that has been trying to schedule tougher teams from power conferences on their schedule. We now know why more teams haven't taken them up on their offer...they are just plain good year in and year out.

36

BYU 8-3 W:Fresno State 52-10 38

There is a lot of young talent on this BYU team, they could be dangerous over the next few seasons.

37

Air Force

8-3 W:Boise State 37-30 NR

The Mountain West torch now rides with the Falcons.

38

Bowling Green

8-3 L:#31 Toledo 28-44 29

Five turnovers and a -4 turnover ratio against Toledo is a lot to try and overcome.

39

South Florida

7-4 W:Cincinnati 65-27 NR

South Florida is starting to gel at the right time and they seem to be winning easily.

40

Tennessee

7-4 W:Missouri 19-8 NR

In another conference Tennessee could be a 10 win team...easily.

Dropped Out: Arkansas, Penn State, Louisiana Tech.
