Ranking

Team

W-L

Result

Previous

1

Ohio State

5-0

W:#36 Indiana 34-27

1

Ezekiel Elliot just took the game over.

2

Michigan State

5-0

W:Purdue 24-21

2

Michigan State fell asleep the second half but Connor Cook is now 28-3 as a starter.

3

TCU

5-0

W:Texas 50-7

3

TCU wasted no time jumping on the Longhorns, this game was over in the first quarter.

4

Baylor

4-0

W:#31 Texas Tech 63-35

6

Baylor has failed to score in only 1 of the 16 quarters they have played thus far.

5

LSU

4-0

W:Eastern Michigan 44-22

5

The NCAA is considering a new rule for teams playing LSU. Leonard Fournette starts the game with -50 yards rushing. Just to even the odds...his rushing performances are beyond absurd.

6

Clemson

4-0

W:#7 Notre Dame 24-22

12

Was this a signal that Florida State's rule over the ACC has come to an end?

7

Alabama

4-1

W:#9 Georgia 38-10

10

In todays NCAA its not all about offense winning games, the Crimson Tide proved that convincingly on the road.

8

Florida State

4-0

W:Wake Forest 24-16

8

Seminole nation is holding it's collective breath after watching Dalvin Cook go down in the first quarter.

9

Utah

4-0 Idle 11

Now that UCLA has lost, Utah becomes the annointed team for the conference but this of course is premature.

10

TexasA&M

5-0

W:#19 Mississippi State 30-17

15

The Aggies get a week off before welcoming Alabama to College Station.

11

Oklahoma

4-0

W:#23 West Virginia 44-24

16

Getting a big win against a ranked opponent is easy when your opponent turns the ball over five times.

12

Florida

5-0

W:#4 Ole Miss 38-10

20

Gotta think Will Muschamp was disappointed with this outcome, Muschamp couldn't get any consistent play out of what seemed to be 1,000 quarterbacks during his head coaching tenure in Gainsville.

13

Northwestern

5-0

W:Minnesota 27-0

18

We mentioned last week that being 4-0 had a lot to do with only allowing 35 total points, now Northwestern is 5-0 and have still allowed only 35 points after a shutout of a respectable Minnesota squad.

14

USC 3-1 Idle 13

A UCLA loss during an off week, things could not have gone better for USC.

15

Ole Miss

4-1

L:#20 Florida 10-38

4

Ole Miss had done a great job at keeping the quarterback clean...until they met up with the Gators.

16

Notre Dame

4-1 L:#12 Clemson 22-24

7

Clemson made Notre Dame a one dimensional team by shutting down the running game with constant penetration.

17

Stanford

4-1

W:#22 Arizona 55-17

26

With Northwestern continuing to win it makes Stanford look stronger and stronger to the rest of the nation. We may have been a little hard on the Cardinal after that loss.

18

Michigan

4-1

W:Maryland 28-0

25

It's not the fact that the defense is giving up less than 8 PPG. It's the fact that Michigan is starting to make it look easy and routine.

19

Georgia

4-1

L:#10 Alabama 10-38

9

Georgia could not get it done against a swarming Alabama defense.

20

Oklahoma State

5-0

W:#38 Kansas State 36-34

21

Oklahoma State wins what could have been the most entertaining game of the weekend.

21

UCLA

4-1

L:Arizona State 23-38

14

UCLA was way too high in the rankings...this is around the area where they truly belong.

22

Iowa

5-0 W:#17 Wisconsin 10-6

39

Kirk Ferentz...still one of the best coaches in college football and an early candidate for Coach of the Year leading Iowa to a 5-0 start.

23

Navy

4-0

W:Air Force 33-11

30

We have been talking about the upcoming Notre Dame-Navy game. Now after the loss to Clemson Notre Dame will be hungry to show they are not a fluke, bad timing for the Midshipmen.

24

Memphis

5-0 W:South Florida 24-17

33

We will continue to scream the name Paxton Lynch until people take notice. I can guarentee Ole Miss knows as the 10/17 game now looms large.

25

Cal

5-0

W:Washington State 34-28

34

Jared Goff should continue to get Heisman consideration but talk of him being the top overall pick in 2016 is absurd. Goff has a ton of talent but he makes too many incorrect reads and his recognition is too slow for our liking. Again, a great quarterback but the difference between good and great at the next level is thin.

26

Temple

4-0

W:Charlotte 37-3

29

The last time Temple started a season 4-0....Gerald Ford was President.

27

Mississippi State

3-2

L:#15 Texas A&M 17-30

19

The Mississippi State defense lacks depth and it showed against Texas A&M as they were outmatched from the start.

28

Wisconsin

3-2

L:#39 Iowa 6-10

17

Wisconsin had 100 yards more total offense than Iowa but 4 turnovers was the killer.

29

Duke

4-1

W:Boston College 9-7

27

Special teams was the difference for the Blue Devils.

30

Oregon

3-2

W:Colorado 41-24

28

This game was closer than the score would indicate. Byron Marshall injury is looming very large in Oregon.

31

Toledo

4-0

W:Ball State 24-10

37

Toledo now leads the nation in red zone defense. Weird to see defense being what the Rockets rely on to win.

32

West Virginia

3-1

L:#16 Oklahoma 24-44

23

Play calling has become very predictable for West Virginia but the five turnovers were uncharacteristic.

33

Indiana

5-0

L:#1 Ohio State 27-34

36

Gave the Buckeyes all they could handle. Indiana will be a player at the top of the Conference standings.

34

NC State

4-1

L:Louisville 13-20

24

We warned everyone about this game being a trap for NC State, and they walked right in.

35

Kansas State

3-1

L:#21 Oklahoma State 36-38

38

Great effort by the Wildcats, although the officials will come under scrutiny for that blown first down call at the end of the first half which allowed Oklahoma State to score.

36

Boise State

4-1

W:Hawaii 55-0

NR

Three consecutive games scoring over 50 points have this team looking like the Broncos of old.

37

Arizona State

3-2

W:#14 UCLA 38-23

NR

the Sun Devils come back into the Fierce 40 just when you thought they were dead and buried.

38

North Carolina

4-1 W:#35 Georgia Tech 38-31

NR

The Tar Heels are a few red zone turnovers away from being undefeated but have now won four straight.

39

Houston

4-0

W:Tulane 38-24

NR

Thursday game with an exciting SMU team could get the Cougars off to their strongest start in years.

40

Miami

3-1

L:Cincinnati 23-34 32

These Hurricanes were overshadowed by Joaquin this week. The "Fire Al Golden" chants get louder and louder.

Dropped Out: Arizona, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Texas Tech.
