Result

Previous

1

Ohio State

6-0

W:Maryland 49-28

1

The Buckeyes now experiment with a three quarterback system.

2

Baylor

5-0

W:Kansas 66-7

4

Baylor hasn't had the close calls or stumbles of TCU and Michigan State, Baylor now becomes #2 in our poll.

3

TCU

6-0

W:#35 Kansas State 52-45

3

TCU keeps surviving these high scoring contests hoping they can get a little more out of their defense in the upcoming weeks.

4

Michigan State

6-0

W:Rutgers 31-24

2

Michigan State is not winning any style points lately but they keep winning. Their win over Oregon is looking less and less impressive as Oregon continues to struggle.

5

LSU

5-0

W:South Carolina 45-24

5

158 yards and a touchdown for Leonard Fournette and many are talking about his "down" day.

6

Clemson

5-0

W:Georgia Tech 43-24

6

Need to not overlook any upcoming opponents before the 11/7 showdown with Florida State.

7

Alabama

5-1

W:Arkansas 27-14

7

Never a week off for the Crimson Tide as they take down another SEC opponent.

8

Utah

5-0

W:#25 Cal 30-24

9

It was just a matter of time before we had a Devontae Booker breakout game.

9

Florida State

5-0 W:#40 Miami 29-24 8

Biding their time until the 11/7 game with Clemson for ACC supremacy.

10

Florida 6-0 W:Missouri 21-3

12

Nearly 38 minutes of possession and 0 turnovers. Add in the always great Florida defense and this team looks like a legitimate contender.

11

Texas A&M

5-0

Idle

11

Texas A&M and Alabama this week is shaping up to be one of the best on the schedule.

12

Notre Dame

5-1

W:#23 Navy 41-24

16

Game got close in the 3rd quarter and then Notre Dame got back to basics and asserted themselves and dominated the Midshipmen.

13

Michigan

5-1

W:#13 Northwestern 38-0

18

Hey Wolverine fans. Remember your loss to Utah and you rolled your eyes and proclaimed doom....seems so long ago doesn't it? That team you lost to is still undefeated and a National Championship contender. Hold your heads high Wolverine nation.

14

Ole Miss 5-1 W:New Mexico State 52-3 15

Was a quick strike kind of day for the offense as they rebounded well from their loss.

15

Oklahoma State

6-0

W:#32 West Virginia  33-26 (OT)

20

A lot of close calls for the Cowboys but they keep finding a way to grind out tough victories.

16

Stanford

4-1 Idle 17

A week off and Cal and Oregon both lose. Stanford could not have asked for better results.

17

Iowa

6-0

W:Illinois 29-20

22

This sets up an interesting game with Northwestern who will try to bounce back after their disasterous loss against Michigan. If Iowa gets by Northwestern they may have smooth sailing to a big, big season.

18

Oklahoma

4-1

L:Texas 17-24

11

Anything can happen in the Red River Rivalry. Oklahoma just got a desperate and hungry Texas team at the wrong time.

19

UCLA

4-1

Idle 21

UCLA and Stanford both had last week off to prep for their big game this Thursday.

20

Memphis

5-0

Idle 24

Memphis will now have the national spotlight as they face off against #14 Ole Miss this weekend at home.

21

Temple

5-0

W:Tulane 49-10

26

The Owls rank #13 in the nation allowing only 14.4 PPG.

22

Northwestern

5-1 L:#18 Michigan 0-38 13

Need to rebound quickly and put the Michigan game behind them.

23

Mississippi State 4-2 W:Troy 45-17 27

Averaging less than 4 penalties a game is one way to eliminate or minimize mistakes.

24

Wisconsin

4-2 W:Nebraska 23-21

28

This has been an up and down year for Wisconsin but they are still healthy within the Big Ten.

25

Toledo

5-0

W:Kent State 38-7

31

Opponents have entered the red zone 13 times against Toledo. The Rockets have surrendered only 18 points in those possessions (1 TD and 4 field goals).

26

Duke

5-1

W:Army 44-3

29

Duke is another team not winning pretty, just winning.

27

USC

3-2

L:Washington 12-17

14

You have to think Washington going on the road in The Coliseum and defeating their former coach was especially sweet. A bad loss for USC as the Trojans start a disappointing 1-2 in conference play.

28

Boise State

5-1

W:Colorado State 41-10 36

Boise State is turning up the defense and stand at +10 in turnover ratio.

29

Georgia

4-2 L:Tennessee 31-38 19

Down goes Nick Chubb as what seems to also be the Georgia season.

30

Navy

4-1 L:#17 Notre Dame 24-41 23

Navy was just outmatched by a better team down the stretch. The Midshipmen retain their status as a team that few want to play.

31

Cal

5-1 L:#9 Utah 24-30

25

Jared Goff is still a great quarterback, but his 5 interceptions should quiet the talk of him being the top overall pick in the 2016 Draft. Talk that we already stated was ridiculous (just see last weeks poll comments).

32

Arizona State

4-2 W:Colorado 48-23

37

The Sun Devils now travel to Utah for what could be their game of the season.

33

Houston

5-0

W:SMU 49-28

39

The Cougars are still flying under the national radar...and we don;t hear them complaining about it.

34

North Carolina

4-1

Idle

38

North Carolina will try to take advantage of one of the easiest schedules they have had in years as their four game winning streak propels them to the top of the ACC.

35

Kansas State

3-2

L:#3 TCU 45-52

35

A controversial loss to Oklahoma State and a competitive loss against TCU. Now Kansas State goes against an Oklahoma team coming off a loss, the schedule makers did the Wildcats no favors this season.

36

Pittsburgh

4-1

W:Virginia 26-19

NR

The Panthers only loss is against the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes. The season has not been loss after star runner James Conner went down.

37

Washington

3-2

W:#14 USC 17-12

NR

The Huskies are making pressure defense look like an art form.

38

Texas Tech

4-2 W:Iowa State 66-31

NR

The Raiders have losses against TCU and Baylor so the record is misleading. The loss against TCU was misleading as Texas tech controlled huge portions of that game and lost on an unfortunate deflection.

39

Penn State

5-1

W:#33 Indiana 29-7

NR

Penn State had their most complete victory on Saturday. Christian Hackenberg showed why he is held in such high regard despite subpar stats and the defense is playing at a high level. The Penn State loss against Temple doesn't look nearly as bad as the Owls remain undefeated.

40

West Virginia

3-2

L:#21 Oklahoma State 26-33 (OT) 32

The Mountaineers let one slip away against Oklahoma State and now get to travel to Baylor....yikes.

Dropped Out: Oregon, Indiana, NC State and Miami.
