Heisman Watch 2016: Week 10

 

1. Lamar Jackson – QB Louisville: 170-288 59.0% 2,161 yards 26 TD 6 INT 162 carries 1,181 yards 7.3 YPC 19 TD. LW 1.

Should win the Heisman even if his team is not in the College Football Playoff.

 

2. Jabrill Peppers – S/RB/KR/PR Michigan: 53 tackles 13.5 TFL 3.5 sacks 7 quarterback hurries 1 FF 17 carries 150 yards 8.8 YPC 3 TD 15 PR 257 yards 17.1 YPR 1 TD 7 KR 182 yards 26.0 YPR . LW 3.

Numbers stack up favorable to Charles Woodson when he won the Heisman...also at Michigan.

 

3. Jake Browning Soph. – QB Washington: 149-220 67.7% 2,273 yards 34 TD 3 INT 4 rushing TD. LW 2.

Browning may be the best quarterback at the FBS level but he is not draft eligible until next season.

 

4. Donnell Pumphrey – RB San Diego State: 244 carries 1,581 yards 6.5 YPC 13 TD 20 catches 145 yards 0 TD LW 6.

The drive for 2,000 is alive and well for Pumphrey.

 

5. Deshaun Watson – QB Clemson: 204-317 64.4% 2,497 yards 24 TD 10 INT 95 carries 380 yards 4.0 YPC 2 TD. LW 5.

Very efficient performance against Syracuse.

 

6. Jeremy McNichols – RB Boise State: 226 carries 1,216 yards 5.4 YPC 16 TD 28 catches 399 yards 14.3 YPC 4 TD. LW 8.

Looking more and more like this years version of Christian McCaffrey catching passes out of the backfield.

 

7.  Dalvin Cook- RB Florida State: 196 carries 1,134 yards 5.8 YPC 12 TD 25 catches 388 yards 15.5 YPC 1 TD. LW 7.

Five touchdowns in the last two weeks is getting Cook some attention.

 

8. Corey Davis – WR Western Michigan: 62 catches 1,029 yards 16.6 YPC 14 TD. LW 10.

Leads all wide receivers in touchdowns at the FBS level.

 

9. Baker Mayfield – QB Oklahoma: 193-271 71.2% 2,912 yards 31 TD 6 INT  3 Rushing TD. LW NR.

Back to back weeks with 4 touchdown passes for Mayfield.

 

10. Saquon Barkley – RB Penn State: 167 carries 1,055 yards 6.3 YPC 11 TD 15 catches 257 yards 17.1 YPC 2 TD. LW NR.

Last four games the rushing totals have been 202, 99, 207 and 167 as well as an additional 114 yards through the air with 5 touchdowns.
