2018-2019 College Bowl Analysis

by DJ Boyer on Jan. 7, 2019

D.J. Boyer gives you predictions and a guide to all of the Bowl Games and the Draft prospects to watch for.

Dec. 15th at 1:30 PM -  Cure Bowl

Tulane (6-6) vs. Louisiana (7-6)

The state of Louisiana kicks off the bowl season with this matchup. Neither team was close to being ranked this season but don't let the mediocre records fool you, both teams had tough schedules. We like the running game of Louisiana to control the clock and the game.

Prediction: Louisiana 34 Tulane 23

Final: Tulane 41 Louisiana 24 (DJ's Record 0-1)

Prospects to Watch:

Tulane

John Leglue  - OT Sr.  UFA

Will Harper - S Jr. 6th/7th Round

Louisiana

Trey Ragas - RB Soph. UFA

Kevin Dotson - OG Sr. UFA

Dec. 15th at 2:00 PM - New Mexico Bowl

North Texas (9-3) vs. #20 Utah State (10-2)

The records look good and this is a direct reflection of the quarterback play. You will find a pair of quarterbacks starting that 90% of America don't know about, but both will put points on the board.

Prediction: Utah State 34 North Texas 28

Final:  Utah State 52 North Texas 13 (DJ's Record 1-1)

Prospects to Watch:

North Texas

Nate Brooks - TE Sr. 6th Round

Jaylen Guyton - WR Jr.  UFA

Utah State

Dax Raymond - TE Jr. 5th Round

David Woodward - ILB Soph. 3rd Round

Dec. 15th at 3:30 PM - Las Vegas Bowl

Arizona State (7-5) vs. #18 Fresno State (11-2)

Jeff Tedford has done one of the best jobs in college football the last two seasons at Fresno State. Fresno State won a Mountain West that had three teams ranked for most of the season, props to Herm Edwards in his first season coaching Arizona State. This team does not have the talent level of Fresno State and receiver N'Keal Harry may not play as he prepares for the draft where he has a shot at being the first wide receiver off the board.

Prediction: Fresno State 23 Arizona State 17

Final:  Fresno State 31 Arizona State 20 (DJ's Record 2-1)

Prospects to Watch:

Arizona State

N'Keal Harry - WR Jr. 1st Round

Chase Lucas - CB Soph. 3rd Round

Fresno State

Jeff Allison - ILB Jr. 7th Round

Marcus McMaryion - QB Sr. UFA

Dec. 15th at 5:30 PM - Camellia Bowl

Georgia Southern (9-3) vs. Eastern Michigan (7-5)

Georgia Southern ended the season on a bit of a down note fading down the stretch in the Sun Belt Conference race. Georgia Southern gets to double digits with one of the easier wins in the early bowl action against Eastern Michigan.

Prediction: Georgia Southern 42 Eastern Michigan 24

Final:  Georgia Southern 23 Eatsern Michigan 21 (DJ's Record 3-1)

Prospects to Watch:

Georgia Southern

Logan Hunt  - DE Sr. UFA

Tyler Bass - K Jr. UFA

Eastern Michigan

Maxx Crosby - DE/LB Jr. 6th/7th Round

Brody Hoying - S Jr. 5th Round

Dec. 15th at 9:00 PM - New Orleans Bowl

#23 Appalachian State (10-2) vs. Middle Tennessee (8-5)

This looks to be the most competitive game on the first day of bowl action. App State has been impressive and came away with another Sun Belt crown but their coach has left for Louisville. Brent Stockstill is one of the most seasoned quarterbacks on the other side of the field. I have App State winning a close one but a Middle Tennessee upset here is very possible.

Prediction: Appalachian State State 33 Middle Tennessee 31

Final:  Appalachian State 45 Middle Tennessee 13 (DJ's Record 4-1)

Prospects to Watch:

Appalachian State

Jalin Moore - RB Sr.4th/5th Round

Victor Johnson - OT Jr.  4th/5th Round

Middle Tennessee

Darius Harris - ILB Sr. 7th Round/UFA

Brent Stockstill - QB Sr. UFA

Dec. 18th at 7:00 PM - Boca Raton Bowl

UAB (10-3) vs. Northern Illinois (8-5)

10 wins from UAB is just so hard to fathom for a school that didn't have a football program a few years back and it was resurrected from the dead. We like Northern Illinois in a small upset here as Suttom Smith continues one of the finest individual seasons at the FBS level.

Prediction: Northern Illinois 27 UAB 24

Final:   UAB 37 Northern Illinois 13 (DJ's Record 4-2)

Prospects to Watch:

UAB

Jamell Garcia-Williams - DE Sr.  6th/7th Round

James Davis  - OG Sr.  UFA

Northern Illinois

Sutton Smith - OLB Sr. 4th Round

Max Scharping - OT Sr. 4th/5th Round

Dec. 19th at 8:00 PM - Frisco Bowl

San Diego State (7-5) vs. Ohio (8-4)

Intriguing matchup with Ohio sporting one of the most consistent offenasive attacks at the FBS level over the last two seasons. You can also look at the San Diego Stgate defense who are undersized but rely on speed and depth to be disruptive. San Diego State is 20th in total defense and is 4th against the run. This has the makings of a low scoring win for Ohio.

Prediction:  Ohio 24 San Diego State 14

Final:  Ohio 27 San Diego State 0 (DJ's Record 5-2)

Prospects to Watch:

San Diego State

Ryan Pope - OT Sr.  6th Round

John Baron  - K Sr.  7th Round

Ohio

Joe Lowery - OT  Sr. 5th Round

Nathan Rourke - QB Jr. UFA

Dec. 20th at 8:00 PM - Gasparilla Bowl

Marshall (8-4) vs. South Florida (7-5)

Two teams trending in opposite directions at the end of the season. South Florida was 7-0 at one point and we think they will end the season 7-6 after suffering their 6th consecutive loss here.

Prediction: Marshall 33 South Florida 24

Final:  Marshall 38 South Florida 20 (DJ's Record 6-2)

Prospects to Watch:

Marshall

Tyre Brady - WR Sr.  5th Round

Ryan Bee  - DT Sr.  6th Round

South Florida

Tyre McCants- FB  Sr. 5th/6th Round

Mitchell Wilcox - TE Jr. 5th Round

Dec. 21st at 12:30 PM - Bahamas Bowl

Florida International (8-4) vs. Toledo (7-5)

You might be wondering why we didn;t hear more about the 8-4 Florida International team and the answer is easy. Florida International had the easiest schedule at the FBS level this season. While this wasn;t a steller season  by Toledo standards they will get the win here.

Prediction: Toledo 34 Florida International 22

Final:   Florida International 35 Toledo 32 (DJ's Record 6-3)

Prospects to Watch:

Florida International

Fermin Silva - OLB Sr.  UFA

Christian Alexander  - QB Jr.  UFA

Toledo

Cody Thompson - WR  Sr. 6th Round

JonVea Johnson - WR Sr. UFA

Dec. 21st at 4:00 PM - Idaho Potato Bowl

Western Michigan (7-5) vs. BYU (-6-6)

Weird matchup as Western Michigan had one of the most inconsistent defenses at the FBS level while BYU was guilty of the same on offense. We think the stout defense with BYU gives them the advantage.

Prediction: BYU 21 Western Michigan 17

Final:  BYU 49 Western Michigan 18 (DJ's Record 7-3)

Prospects to Watch:

Western Michigan

John Keenoy - C Sr.  7th Round/UFA

Luke Juriga - OG Jr.  UFA

BYU

Corbin Kaufusi - DE  Sr. 3rd Round

Austin Hoyt - OT Sr. UFA

Dec. 22nd at 12:00 PM - Birmingham Bowl

#38 Memphis (8-5) vs. Wake Forest (6-6)

With Darrell Henderson declaring for the draft there is a good change the Memphis running back will not suit up....advantage Wake Forest.

Prediction: Wake Forest 30 Memphis 28

Final:  Wake Forest 37 Memphis 34 (DJ's Record 8-3)

Prospects to Watch:

Memphis

Darrell Henderson  - RB  Jr. 1st Round

Tony Pollard - WR Jr. 3rd/4th Round

Wake Forest

Ryan Anderson - C Sr. 5th/6th Round

Cameron Glenn - S 4th Round

Dec. 22nd at 3:30 PM - Armed Forces Bowl

Houston (8-4) vs. #23 Army (10-2)

No Ed Oliver at defensive tackle for Houston as the Army season just looks magical and needs a storybook ending. One of the most interesting stats we saw regarding the bowl season is that Army leads FBS in time of possession while Houston is dead last.

Prediction: Army 24 Houston 20

Final:  Army 70 Houston 14 (DJ's Record 9-3)

Prospects to Watch:

Houston

Ed Oliver -  DT Jr. 1st Round

Josh Jones - OT Jr. 3rd/4th Round

Army

Andy Davidson - FB Sr. UFA

Kelvin Hopkins Jr. - RB Jr. UFA

Dec. 22nd at 7:00 PM - Dollar General Bowl

Buffalo (10-3) vs. Troy (9-3)

This is about as close to to a home game as you can get for Troy. Buffalo is still reeling after blowing it in the MAC title game. The smart money here is on Troy.

Prediction: Troy37 Buffalo 31

Final:  Troy 42 Buffalo 32 (DJ's Record 10-3)

Prospects to Watch:

Buffalo

Anthony Johnson - WR Sr. 4th Round

Khalil Hodge - ILB Sr. 5th Round

Troy

Blace Brown - CB Sr. 3rd Round

Tristan Crowder - OG Jr. 7th Round

Dec. 22nd at 10:30 PM - Hawaii Bowl

Hawaii (8-5) vs.  Louisiana Tech (7-5)

Another team getting a home game with Hawaii playing in the Hawaii bowl. This team could have packed it in after losing 4 in a row but they got their groove back with a pair of wins to end the regular season...make it 3 in a row.

Prediction: Hawaii 42 Louisiana Tech 16

Final:  Louisiana Tech 31 Hawaii 14  (DJ's Record 10-4)

Prospects to Watch:

Hawaii

Jahlani Tavai - ILB Sr. 7th Round/UFA

John Ursua - WR Jr.6th Round

Louisiana Tech

Jaylon Ferguson - DE Sr. 1st/2nd Round

Shane Carpenter - OT Sr. UFA

Dec. 26th at 1:30 PM - First Responder Bowl

#39 Boston College (7-5) vs.  #21 Boise State (10-3)

Tough game to predict as Boston College will want a win to save themselves from the three-game skid they are currently on.  In the end it isn;t quite enough as Boise State wins with their superior depth.

Prediction: Boise State 31 Boston College 24

Final:  CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER (DJ's Record 10-4)

Prospects to Watch:

Boston College

Zach Allen DE Sr. 1st Round

Chris Lidstrom OG Sr. 2nd/3rd Round

Boise State

Curtis Weaver DE Soph. 3rd Round

Brett Rypien QB Sr. 5th Round

Dec. 26th at 5:15 PM - Quick Lane  Bowl

Minnesota (6-6) vs.  Georgia Tech (7-5)

Does Minnesota have what it takes to stop the Georgia Tech ground game? Both teams were hot down the stretch but we are beting on Minnesota in  close game.

Prediction: Minnesota 24 Georgia Tech 23

Final:  Minnesota 34 Georgia Tech 10 (DJ's Record 11-4)

Prospects to Watch:

Georgia Tech

Parker Braun OG Jr. 3rd Round

Kenny Cooper C Jr. 4th/5th Round

Minnesota

Carter Coughlin OLB Jr. 4th Round

Tyler Johnson WR Jr. 4th Round

Dec. 26th at 9:00 PM - Cheez-It  Bowl

Cal (7-5) vs. TCU (6-6)

TCU finds just enough offense here in a lacklaster matchup of teams who had terrific starts only to fizzle out by midseason. TCU here finds just enough of a ground game to con trol the clock and win the game.

Prediction: TCU 30 Cal 20

Final:   TCU 10 Cal 7 (OT) (DJ's Record 12-4)

Prospects to Watch:

Cal

Ross Bowers QB Jr. UFA

Luc Bequette DT Jr. 7th Round

TCU

Ty Summers ILB Sr. 6th Round

Ben Banogu DE Sr. 3rd/4th Round

Dec. 27th at 1:30 PM - Independence  Bowl

#32 Temple (8-4) vs. Duke (7-5)

Feel the tell tale sign for this game is the turnover margin which stands at +5 for temple and -6 for Duke. Advantage Temple.

Prediction: Temple 34 Duke 27

Final:  Duke 56 Temple 27 (DJ's Record 12-5)

Prospects to Watch:

Temple

Delvon Randall S Sr. 6th Round

Ryquell Armstead RB Sr. 7th Round/UFA

Duke

Mark Gilbert CB Jr. 3rd Round

Joe Giles-Harris ILB Jr. 5th Round

Dec. 27th at 5:15 PM - Pinstripe Bowl

Miami (7-5) vs. #40 Wisconsin (7-5)

These teams met just a year ago in a New Years Bowl game and this year both programs have been colossial disappointments. The game may not be as prestigious but the result is the same. Wisconsin wins in a battle of teams with inconsistent quarterback play.

Prediction: Wisconsin 21 Miami 18

Final:  Wisconsin 35 Miami 3 (DJ's Record 13-5)

Prospects to Watch:

Miami

Michael Pinckney OLB Jr. 1st/2nd ROund

Jajuan Johnson S Sr. 2nd/3rd Round

Wisconsin

Jonathan Taylor RB Soph. 1st Round

David Edwards OT Jr. 1st/2nd Round

Dec. 27th at 9:00 PM - Texas Bowl

Baylor (6-6) vs. Vanderbilt (6-6)

When you look at the stats for this game it's nearly even across the board and down to the records. We like the trending turn upward of the vanderbilt who scored at least 33 points in each of their last 4 games and all were SEC conference games.

Prediction: Vanderbilt 41 Baylor 26

Final:  Baylor 45 Vanderbilt 38 (DJ's Record 13-6)

Prospects to Watch:

Baylor

Denzel Mims WR Jr. 2nd/3rd Round

Jameson Houston CB Jr. 4th/5th Round

Vanderbilt

Jared Pinkney TE Jr. 5th Round

LaDarius Wiley S Sr. 5th Round

Dec. 28th at 1:30 PM - Music City Bowl

Purdue (6-6) vs. #28 Auburn (7-5)

Jarrett Stidham will certainly be skipping this bowl game since he has announced he is declaring for the NFL Draft. Early reports indicate he will play in the bowl and this could be a key to the game, we are not buying that he will play or maybe just not the whole game. We like Auburn to win a close game maybe one that comes down to a field goal due to the inconsistency displayed throughout the season by Purdue.

Prediction: Auburn 23 Purdue 20

Final:  Auburn 63 Purdue 14 (DJ's Record 14-6)

Prospects to Watch:

Purdue

Lorenzo Neal DT Jr. 2nd/3rd Round

Markus Bailey ILB Jr. 5th Round

Auburn

Derrick Brown DT Jr. 1st Round

Nick Coe DE Soph. 1st Round

Dec. 28th at 5:15 PM - Camping World Bowl

#12 West Virginia (8-3) vs. #17 Syracuse (9-3)

This is another game that may come down to quarterback status for this game. Will grier has already announced he is skipping to prepare for the Draft. Eric Dungey for Syracuse may be a lte round pick and will most certainly have an invite to a camp if not picked, but he will likely play. This is causing us to favor a Syracuse squad that when it has all it's pieces is probably the best team in the ACC outside of Clemson.

Prediction: Syracuse 38 West Virginia 27

Final:  Syracuse 34 West Virginia 18 (DJ's Record 15-6)

Prospects to Watch:

West Virginia

Will Grier QB Sr. 2nd/3rd Round

David Sills WR Sr. 1st/2nd Round

Syracuse

Eric Dungey QB Sr. 7th Round

Koda Martin OT Sr. 5th Round

Dec. 28th at 9:00 PM - Alamo Bowl

#19 Iowa State (8-4) vs. #11 Washington State (10-2)

The Washington State offense sputtered down the satretch and is a little beat up. Iowa State continues to be one of the most underrated programs in the land and they score an upset here.

Prediction: Iowa State 24 Washington State 20

Final: Washington State 28 Iowa State 26 (DJ's Record 15-7)

Prospects to Watch:

Iowa State

Chase Allen TE Soph. 2nd Round

Marcel Spears Jr. ILB Jr. 3rd Round

Washington State

Andre Dillard OT Sr. 1st/2nd Round

Jalen Thompson S Jr. 2nd Round

Dec. 29th at 12:00 PM - Peach Bowl

#13 Florida  (9-3) vs. #8 Michigan (10-2)

This is the third time these teams have faced off in the last three seasons and Michigan won both previous matchups. They say things always happen in three's.

Prediction: Michigan 27 Florida 20

Final:  Florida 41 Michigan 16 (DJ's Record 15-8)

Prospects to Watch:

Florida

Jachai Polite DE/OLB Jr. 1st/2nd Round

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson CB/S Jr. 1st/2nd Round

Michigan

Rashan Gary DE Jr. 1st Round

Devin Bush ILB Jr. 2nd Round

Dec. 29th at 1:00 PM - Belk Bowl

South Carolina (7-5) vs. #37 Virginia (7-5)

Hardly a matchup that will wow the viewer if you are not a fan of either of these teams. Both showed signs of being very good this season but falling just short of taking it to the next level. We give this to South Carolina due to the level of compitition they face in the SEC vice a lackluster ACC.

Prediction: South Carolina 30 Virginia 24

Final: Virginia 28 South Carolina 0 (DJ's Record 15-9)

Prospects to Watch:

South Carolina

Deebo Samuel WR Sr. 2nd/3rd Round

Keisean Nixon CB Sr. 4th/5th Round

Virginia

Bryce Hall CB Jr. 4th Round

Juan Thornhill S Sr. 3rd/4th Round

Dec. 29th at 1:15 PM - Arizona Bowl

Arkansas State (8-4) vs. Nevada (7-5)

This game may be a pleasant surpirse as we have a pair of offenses that are fun to watch and on upwards trends. Strong quarterback play usually sways us and Justice Hansen closes out his brilliant Arkansas State career with a big game against the Wolfpack.

Prediction: Arkansas State 41 Nevada 28

Final:  Nevada 16 Arkansas State 13(OT) (DJ's Record 15-10)

Prospects to Watch:

Arkansas State

Justice Hansen QB Sr. 7th Round/UFA

Lanard Bonner OT Sr. 6th Round

Nevada

Dameon Baber S Sr. 7th Round/UFA

Gabriel Sewell ILB Jr. UFA

Dec. 29th at 4:00 PM - Cotton Bowl - College Football Playoff

#3 Notre Dame (12-0) vs. #2 Clemson (13-0)

Here we go....the College Football Playoff, something that is becoming a bit of a habit for Clemson to make. Good to see the Irish back who should not be penelized for an easier year withthe schedule. Some tradionally good teams on the schedule that had down years which was beyond control of the Irish. Not the case with Clemson and that dominant offenisve line. We like the Tigers big here.

Prediction: Clemson 38 Notre Dame 17

Final:  Clemson 30 Notre Dame 3 (DJ's Record 16-10)

Prospects to Watch:

Notre Dame

Julian Love CB Jr. 1st/2nd Round

Jerry Tillery DT Sr. 2nd Round

Clemson

Clellin Ferrell DE Jr. 1st Round

Dexter Lawrence DT Jr. 1st Round

Dec. 29th at 8:00 PM - Sugar Bowl - College Football Playoff

#1 Alabama (13-0) vs. #4 Oklahoma (12-1)

We don't like the talk of this being perhaps the stronest Alabama team ever. That talk is far fetched though there is tremendous balance. Kyler Murray deservadly won the Heisman Trophy and leadsa a historically good Oklahoma offense. We have Alabama advancing here but mobile quarterbacks have been an Achilles Heel for the Crimson Tide defense over the last five years. An Oklahoma win is not shocking.

Prediction: Alabama 44 Oklahoma 40

Final:   Albama 45 Oklahoma 34 (DJ's Record 17-10)

Prospects to Watch:

Alabama

Jonah Williams OT Jr. 1st Round

Quinnen Williams DT Soph. 1st Round

Oklahoma

Cody Ford OG Jr. 1st/2nd Round

Marquise Brown WR Jr. 2nd Round

Dec. 31st at 12:00 PM - Military Bowl

#26 Cincinnati (10-2) vs. Virginia Tech (6-6)

It's about time Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell gets some National "Coach of the Year" love. Virginia Tech struggled with injuries and uncharacteristic mental mistakes to land at .500 and maybe the moment is too big for Cincinnati...but maybe it isn't

Prediction: Cincinnati 31 Virginia Tech 21

Final:   Cincinnati 35 Virginia Tech 31 (DJ's Record 18-10)

Prospects to Watch:

Cincinnati

Marquise Copeland DE/DT Sr. 5th/6th Round

James Wiggins S Soph. 4th Round

Virginia Tech

Damon Hazelton WR Soph. 5th Round

Josh Jackson QB Soph. 4th/5th Round

Dec. 31st at 2:00 PM - Sun Bowl

#31 Stanford (8-5) vs. #35 Pitt (7-6)

A pair of streaky teams this season and after three wins to close the season Stanford is trending upward. Stanford has won in non-traditional fashion, showing all who look closely why David Shaw is one of the best coaches in the land.

Prediction: Stanford 17 Pitt 16

Final:  Stanford 14 Pitt 13 (DJ's Record 19-10)

Prospects to Watch:

Stanford

Nate Herbig OG Jr. 2nd/3rd Round

Walker Little OT Soph. 1st Round

Pitt

Damar Hamlin S Jr. 5th Round

Quadree Wilson RB Sr. 6th Round

Dec. 31th at 3:00 PM - Redbox Bowl

#36 Michigan State (7-5) vs. #34 Oregon (8-4)

On paper this game looks like a dud. Michigan State played an old-school bland Big Ten style of football. Very little offense with a heavy dose of the ground game and bone-jaring hits on a defenisve unit that ranked #14 overall in the nation. Even though Justin Herbert has spurned the draft and has said he is returning to Oregon we are going with Michigan State in a surprisingly low scoring affair.

Prediction: Michigan State 13 Oregon 7

Final:  Oregon 7 Michigan State 6 (DJ's Record 19-11)

Prospects to Watch:

Michigan State

David Dowell S Jr. 2nd Round

Kevin Jarvis OG Soph. 2nd Round

Oregon

Justin Herbert QB Jr. 1st Round

Jake Hanson C Jr. 2nd Round

Dec. 31st at 3:45 PM - Liberty Bowl

Missouri (8-4) vs. Oklahoma State (6-6)

Mizzou quarterback Drew Lock looks like an All-Star until he faces stiff compitition. Not many quarterbacks have been "busts" at the next level but we feel it is buyer beware. Just don't see Oklahoma State finishing the season with a losing record.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 45 Mizzou 38

Final:  Oklahoma Stgate 38 Mizzou 33 (DJ's Record 20-11)

Prospects to Watch:

Missouri

Drew Lock QB Sr. 1st/2nd Round

Albert Okwuegbunam TE Soph. 1st Round

Oklahoma State

Justice Hill RB Jr. 2nd Round

Tylan Wallace WR Soph. 1st/2nd Round

Dec. 31st at 7:00 PM - Holiday Bowl

#27 Northwestern (8-5) vs. #25 Utah (9-4)

We are going to go against the grain here. Utah is nearly unstoppable in bowl games but we like Clayton Thgorson coming through in the clutch. This has the feel of a last-second drive to set up a winning field goal for the Wildcats.

Prediction: Northwestern 28 Utah 26

Final:  Northwestern 31 Utah 20 (DJ's Record 21-11)

Prospects to Watch:

Northwestern

Clayton Thorson Qb Sr. 2nd/3rd Round

Montre hartage CB Sr. 4th Round

Utah

Chase Hansen OLB Sr. 4th Round

Jaylon Johnson CB Soph. 3rd Round

Dec. 31st at 7:30 PM - Gator Bowl

#30 NC State (8-3) vs. #29 Texas A&M (8-4)

Texas A&M may be the best 4-loss team at the FBS level as two of their losses came to Clemson and Alabama. Well outside of fellow SEC school Mississippi State who also handed them a loss. Texas A&M played Clemson tougher than any opponent played the Tigers this year. Fresh off what might have been the game of the year beating LSU 74-72 in 7 OT's the Aggies keep it rolling in a big way.

Prediction: Texas A&M 55 NC State 37

Final:  Texas A&M 52 NC State 13  (DJ's Record 22-11)

Prospects to Watch:

We always have have that one bowl game on New years that is supposed to be a good game and turns into a blowout. We think this is that game as Ohio State plays with a little chip on its shoulder after being shutout of the College Football Playoff.

Jan. 1st at 8:45 PM - Sugar Bowl

#16 Texas (9-4) vs. #5 Georgia (11-2)

We can't explain it but somethint is telling us that Texas pulls off the upset in this game. The Longhorns just seem to matchup well against Georgia, they shouldn't win b ut they find a way because Georgia doesn't want to be here.

Prediction: Texas 37 Georgia 34

Jan. 7th at 8:00 PM - College Football Championship

#2 Clemson (14-0) vs. #1 Alabama (14-0)

The game we have all been waiting for. Maybe this installment will not be as good as the first two matchups but that isn;t a knock on this game as much as testiment to how good the matchups have been in the past. I think again this comes down to quarterback play. Trevor Lawrence looked good against Notre Dame...but this isn't Notre Dame. Alabama wins another crown.

Prediction: Alabama 34 Clemson 23

Final:  Clemson 44 Alabama 16 (DJ's Record 25-14)
