Final Heisman Rankings

by DJ Boyer on Dec. 12, 2015

Heisman Watch: Week 13

1. Derrick Henry – RB Alabama: 339 carries 1,986 yards 5.9 YPC 23 TD LW 1.

Henry should be the first non quarterback to win the award since 2009 when it was won by...Alabama running back Mark Ingram.

2. Deshaun Watson – QB Clemson: 287-413 69.5% 3,512 yards 30 TD 11 INT 163 carries 989 yards 6.1 YPC 11 TD. LW 4.

Watson was our preseason pick for the Heisman. After a strong second half it looks like he will come up just short.

3. Christian McCaffrey- RB Stanford: 319 carries 1,847 yards 5.8 YPC 8 TD 41 catches 540 yards 4 TD 36 Kickoff Returns 1,042 yards 28.9 AVG 1 TD. LW 5.

Now holds NCAA single season All Purpose yards from scrimmage record. Worthy of being invited to New York.

4. Ezekiel Elliot – RB Ohio State: 262 carries 1,672 yards 6.4 YPC 19 TD 26 catches 176 yards. LW 2.

He may finish behind Derrick Henry on the Heisman ballot, but he will likely be selected ahead of him in the Draft if both go pro as expected.

5. Leonard Fournette – RB LSU: 271 carries 1,741 yards 6.4 YPC 18 TD. 18 catches 209 yards LW 3.

At one time it looked like Fournette was running away with the award.

6. Dalvin Cook- RB Florida State: 211 carries 1,658 yards 7.9 YPC 18 TD 22 catches 218 yards 1 TD. LW 9.

Will be one of the favorites for the award next season.

7. Baker Mayfield – QB Oklahoma: 243-354 68.6% 3,389 yards 35 TD 5 INT 131 carries 420 yards 7 TD. LW NR.

Mayfield may have been the most valuable player outside of Henry coming down the stretch in leading the Sooners to the playoffs.

8. Keenan Robinson – QB Navy: 46-84 54.8% 964 yards 6 TD 1 INT 220 carries 1,093 yards  5.0 YPC 19 TD. LW 7.

Robinson still has the annual game against Army to go as he pads his record setting career numbers.

9. Paxton Lynch – QB Memphis: 280-406 69.0% 3,670 yards 28 TD 3 INT LW 9.

Will likely battle Connor Cook as the top quarterback selected in the draft if he declares.

10. Brandon Doughty – QB Western Kentucky: 356-496 71.8% 4,594 yards 45 TD 7 INT. LW 10.

Doughty looks to be one of the sleeper picks at quarterback in the 2016 Draft...a player we have been telling our readers about for three years.

Honorable Mention:Tyler Matakevich, LB, Temple; Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M; Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor; Matt Johnson, QB, Bowling Green; Marquise Williams, QB, North Carolina; Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU and Mason Rudolph, QB, Oklahoma State.
