TheFFLCommish's 2018 NFL Mock Draft Picks - Last updated: 04-18-2018

Rnd. ▴ Pick   Team Player Pos. School
1 1Cleveland ClevelandSam Darnold QB USC
TheFFLCommish's comments: There is a lot of speculation as to whom the Browns will ultimately select, but Darnold seems to be picking up steam. I prefer Rosen over any QB in this draft, but Darnold provides stability for a franchise that has struck out at QB for far too long.
1 2NY Giants NY GiantsBradley Chubb DE North Carolina State
TheFFLCommish's comments: Giants stay where they are and select Bradley Chubb. Many will scoff at this, but he's not getting past the Browns at 4, and Jets can't spend more capital to move up one pick. Chubb is a defensive difference maker and an excellent building block for their D.
1 3NY Jets NY JetsBaker Mayfield QB Oklahoma
TheFFLCommish's comments: When the Jets made this move, I believe they assumed there would be their choice of Mayfield or Rosen, but in this scenario, they also could go Allen. The bright lights of NY needs a winner now, and Mayfield is the electric player that changes the direction of the Jets.
1 4Cleveland ClevelandJosh Allen QB Wyoming
TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: I project the Bills to trade for this pick. The Bills move to 4th in fear that Miami leaps, or Denver takes a signal caller. Allen is raw, has some mechanical flaws, and needs to dramatically improve his accuracy. If the Senior Bowl was indicative, he's capable of being coached quickly.
1 5Denver DenverSaquon Barkley RB Penn State
TheFFLCommish's comments: Denver might be the team to make a move with the Giants on draft night to get a future QB, but if they stay, I believe they go with Barkley as their future. Denver needs a stable running game, and the value of Barkley is too good to pass up.
1 6Indianapolis IndianapolisQuenton Nelson OG Notre Dame
TheFFLCommish's comments: Not getting Chubb will sting, and the idea of trading will likely come into play. Why not get the best Offensive lineman in this draft to proect Luck? Nelson is the about as much of a "lock" as their is in this draft.
1 7Tampa Bay Tampa BayDenzel Ward CB Ohio State
TheFFLCommish's comments: Tampa needs secondary help, and Derwin James has been linked here for some time, but I think corner is much more pressing. A true shut down corner in a Denzel Ward, a Jason Verett clone, is a nice selection.
1 8Chicago ChicagoTremaine Edmunds OLB Virginia Tech
TheFFLCommish's comments: At 19 years old, yes you read that right, Edmunds is someone who fits immediately into Chicago's scheme. Athleticism/potential off the charts.
1 9San Francisco San FranciscoRoquan Smith ILB Georgia
TheFFLCommish's comments: Had Reuben Foster not been facing jailtime right now, I assume the 49ers would add Ward, but with uncertainty in this defense - they need a sure thing. Roquan provides that for them here.
1 10Oakland OaklandDerwin James S Florida State
TheFFLCommish's comments: I expect Oakland to do something crazy here (maybe even reach on Guice) - but the sensible thing is to take either Ward, James or Fitzpatrick. James makes the most sense for the Raiders, but who knows with them??
1 11Miami MiamiJosh Rosen QB UCLA
TheFFLCommish's comments: Miami waited, Rosen fell to them, and now they are in a position to take the talented signal caller. If it plays out like this, I'd be shocked - but it works in this mock.
1 12Buffalo BuffaloMike McGlinchey OT Notre Dame
TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: This pick belongs to the Cleveland. Browns need to shore up their OL now that Joe Thomas has retired, and McGlinchey looks to be versatile in he can play outside (if he improves strength) or inside.
1 13Washington WashingtonMinkah Fitzpatrick CB Alabama
TheFFLCommish's comments: Washington needs a run-stopper up front, but passing over Fitzpatrick for a 2 down lineman would be a very hard sell. With the way the board played, Fitzpatrick is a difference maker they can't resist.
1 14Green Bay Green BayHarold Landry DE Boston College
TheFFLCommish's comments: Green Bay needs to win now, and getting an edge rusher who doesn't need to develop (Davenport) looks to be the smart play. Landry is a problem for OL everywhere.
1 15Arizona ArizonaLamar Jackson QB Louisville
TheFFLCommish's comments: You cannot believe that you have your QB situation handled with Bradford and Glennon. Lamar is far too explosive to let go here, so the rebuilding begins with the dual threat QB.
1 16Baltimore BaltimoreConnor Williams OT Texas
TheFFLCommish's comments: Baltimore needs a WR, and they have their pick of one here - but with little separation from 1 to 6 in WR class, they look to shore up a nagging offensive line gap with tackle Williams.
1 17LA Chargers LA ChargersVita Vea DT Washington
TheFFLCommish's comments: Chargers should be looking to go defense here, and while Vander Esch would be a great fit, passing up Vea is too hard. Vita provides something LA desperately needs.
1 18Seattle SeattleJoshua Jackson CB Iowa
TheFFLCommish's comments: I expect Seattle to trade this pick, since their next selection isn't until 120. If they stay, I see Josh Jackson being the fit. Big bodied DB who can immediately boost a currently weak DB group.
1 19Dallas DallasMarcus Davenport DE UTSA
TheFFLCommish's comments: Yes - I hear you Dallas. WR is the need...but, same logic as Baltimore. WR will be there later, and while Courtland Sutton would be oh so nice, Davenport is a rare talent that helps Dallas now.
1 20Detroit DetroitIsaiah Wynn OG Georgia
TheFFLCommish's comments: Detroit needs offensive lineman and they need a better running attack. Guice SHOULD be the pick here, but Wynn is an interesting riser who fills a huge need.
1 21Cincinnati CincinnatiJames Daniels OC Iowa
TheFFLCommish's comments: Bengals get this right and take an athletic center to break the Bodine purgatory of years past.
1 22Buffalo BuffaloRashaan Evans ILB Alabama
TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: This pick belongs to the Cleveland. Rashaan Evans is a big upgrade for the Browns to pass up here. Defensive back could be in play, but Evans is an excellent addition.
1 23New England New EnglandLeighton Vander Esch OLB Boise State
TheFFLCommish's comments: New England has 4 key areas they most address in this draft. LB, OT, DB and QB. Vander Esch falling here is an excellent value and one that NE likely pounces on.
1 24Carolina CarolinaCalvin Ridley WR Alabama
TheFFLCommish's comments: First WR off the board goes to Carolina, where they will take the talented Ridley to pair with Funchess. Ridley is smooth - and all around provides Carolina something they have lacked - a consistent WR.
1 25Tennessee TennesseeSam Hubbard DE Ohio State
TheFFLCommish's comments: Tennessee needs at edge rusher are ever so noticable. Hubbard provides a solid addition. His tape shows technique strength with excellent pad level - reminding me of Rob Ninvokvich.
1 26Atlanta AtlantaTaven Bryan DT Florida
TheFFLCommish's comments: Taven Bryan is exactly what the Falcons love in a player. From his background to his playing style, Bryan will be an excellent addition to a versitle & quick defense.
1 27New Orleans New OrleansJaire Alexander CB Louisville
TheFFLCommish's comments: Saints are likely tempted to jump up for Vander Esch, or select a QB here. The Saints may go all in on their secondary and select ultra talented Jaire Alexander to pair with Lattimore as a scary DB crew.
1 28Pittsburgh PittsburghJustin Reid S Stanford
TheFFLCommish's comments: Pittsburgh is a team I could see being active in the trade market to move up for Evans, but should they stay here, safety Justin Reid is their guy. Safety is a concern for the Steelers (watch the Jags game in the playoffs!!)
1 29Jacksonville JacksonvilleCourtland Sutton WR SMU
TheFFLCommish's comments: Jacksonville doesn't have a particular need, but Sutton opposite Moncrief/Lee is a much cheaper option than Robinson/Hurns was going to be. Sutton is my WR #1.
1 30Minnesota MinnesotaWill Hernandez OG UTEP
TheFFLCommish's comments: One of my favorite prospects in this draft is Will Hernandez. His college tape shows a big, mean dude that will just beat you into submission. Ritchie Incognito comp is spot on - and Vikes fill an offensive line need.
1 31New England New EnglandMason Rudolph QB Oklahoma State
TheFFLCommish's comments: New England will look at Kolton Miller here, but that extra 1 year on the contract means QB is the easiest route so Mason Rudolph come on down. Rudolph being Brady's apprentice is a nice future transition.
1 32Philadelphia PhiladelphiaDerrius Guice RB LSU
TheFFLCommish's comments: The Eagles brought in Ajayi, but without having a "hole" to fill (aside from TE2), selecting Guice is a fantastic value and AT&T stadium is going to be booing like crazy.
2 33Cleveland ClevelandKolton Miller OT UCLA
TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: I have the Patriots trading up to this pick.
2 34NY Giants NY GiantsRonald Jones RB USC
2 35Cleveland ClevelandDa'Ron Payne DT Alabama
2 36Indianapolis IndianapolisMike Hughes CB Central Florida
2 37Indianapolis IndianapolisArden Key DE LSU

2 40Denver DenverBilly Price OG Ohio State
2 41Oakland OaklandSony Michel RB Georgia
2 42Miami MiamiD.J. Moore WR Maryland
2 43New England New EnglandIsaiah Oliver CB Colorado
TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: This pick belongs to Cleveland.

TheFFLCommish's comments: TRADE: This pick belongs to Cleveland.
