robmorrison14's 2019 NBA Mock Draft Picks - Last updated: 04-18-2019

Rnd. ▴ Pick   Team Player Pos. School
1 1New York New YorkZion Williamson PF Duke
robmorrison14's comments: Zion's health is a major concern for me. We've never seen any player like him, but that may be his biggest flaw. 280 lbs falling 45" every time he jumps up for a monster dunk, can't do any positives for his legs or his back. I hope I'm wrong because we would see a Mt. Rushmore type of player if he has a full healthy career, but I feel it's too much paranoia taking him #1... Except for NY. They don't seem to care about winning and care more about selling tickets. Well then, Zion is the guy. Any other team with the #1 pick I would not take Williamson.
1 2Cleveland ClevelandR.J. Barrett SF Duke
robmorrison14's comments: RJ is the next big step for CLE's rebuilding process. Sexton is becoming the star we thought he would be and he'll be even better next year. Barrett gives Sexton the help that he needs to be able to get W's. Throw in another solid veteran in free agency and CLE will be back in the playoffs within the next 2-3 years.
1 3Phoenix PhoenixJa Morant PG Murray State
robmorrison14's comments: PHX needs a PG and a player that can help take them back to the playoffs. Look no further Morant, Booker, and Ayton can create a winning environment that I don't even think the Suns can mess up.
1 4Chicago ChicagoDarius Garland PG Vanderbilt
robmorrison14's comments: I don't like Garland going this high, but there's really no other choice for CHI. A PG is all they need to complete the starting 5 puzzle. Getting a top 2 or 3 pick would be best for the Bulls so they could take Morant but if they get stuck at 4 and can't move up they have to go with Garland. Carter, Markkanen, Porter, Lavine, and Garland could give the Bulls fans something to be happy about. Replace Morant with Garland and you have a lineup that even a non-Chicago fan like me would be salivating over.
1 5Atlanta AtlantaBol Bol C Oregon
robmorrison14's comments: Trae Young needs someone who collapses defenses to open the perimeter even more for him. Insert Bol Bol. Might not be able to step in right away and be a star but give him a year of development and healing and ATL can start becoming serious contenders in the East.
1 6Washington WashingtonJarrett Culver SG Texas Tech
robmorrison14's comments: Best available fit.
1 7New Orleans New OrleansJaxson Hayes C Texas
robmorrison14's comments: AD's replacement. Not going to be as good as Davis, but is a solid puzzle piece in the rebuilding process.
1 8Memphis MemphisBrandon Clarke C Gonzaga
robmorrison14's comments: Marc Gasol is gone and they need some youth and excitement in that organization. Jackson is a great start but time to take it the next step by getting Clarke to add to the developing front court.
1 9Atlanta AtlantaDe'Andre Hunter SF Virginia
robmorrison14's comments: Hunter is not going to be a star in the NBA. He will be a good player, but taking someone at 9 is where you want to find a franchise player, not a role player. That's why it's the perfect steal for ATL. They have stars in Young, Collins and Bol. Hunter would be the perfect complimentary piece to the starting lineup.
1 10Minnesota MinnesotaDaniel Gafford PF Arkansas
robmorrison14's comments: Underated player. Could trade back and get him, either way this would be a perfect fit for the MIN franchise.
1 11LA Lakers LA LakersPJ Washington SF Kentucky
robmorrison14's comments: I don't think LA is going to keep this pick. They will be using this to get someone on the trading block. For now we will just use this for best available.
1 12Charlotte CharlotteNazreon Reid PF LSU
robmorrison14's comments: CHA have a talent pool that feels like they are wasting. Monk, Bridges, even Bacon I think deserve better than they are showing. I hope they realize it this summer. I think the best suit for the Hornets in this draft would be a big man and they don't come much better than Naz Reid.
1 13Miami MiamiCoby White PG UNC
robmorrison14's comments: Time for a PG to take the keys in MIA. Coby White is incredible and will be an all star in the future.
1 14Boston BostonRomeo Langford SG Indiana
robmorrison14's comments: Romeo is not ready for the NBA. He has no shot. That's why if he is to leave IU this year, this would be a great grab for BOS. They don't need Langford at this moment. Perfect place for him to ride the bench get single digit minutes a game and learn and develop. He's got the skills, just doesn't know how to use them yet. Still think it would be best for him to stay an extra year in college but being he was one of the top recruits in the nation, I don't see it happening.
1 15Detroit DetroitNickeil Alexander-Walker PG Virginia Tech
robmorrison14's comments: Get Reggie Jackson out of Detroit! Nickeil is the guy to do it. The most underrated player in the draft, does it on both ends and is the guy that can bring real youth and talent to the Motor City. But given the Pistons draft history they will let their fanbase down yet again.
1 16Orlando OrlandoKevin Porter SF USC
robmorrison14's comments: Best available fit.
1 17Brooklyn BrooklynCam Reddish SF Duke
robmorrison14's comments: Biggest risk in the draft, but could fit in nicely with the young and talented Nets. Wouldn't need him to be a star right away and could be a great piece of the puzzle in a few years.
1 18Indiana IndianaSekou Doumboya SF France
robmorrison14's comments: Best available.
1 19San Antonio San AntonioGrant Williams PF Tennessee
robmorrison14's comments: Another guy who will probably not be a star, but a great role player that would fit in great with the system that OKC is running.
1 20Memphis MemphisLuguentz Dort SG Arizona State
robmorrison14's comments: Dort has every right to become the next James Harden. He has the tools, just hasn't been able to use them to the best of his ability yet. It is a risk, being he may never be able to figure it out. If he does though, watch out cause MEM just got a superstar in the making.
1 21Oklahoma City Oklahoma CityIgnas Brazdeikis SF Michigan
robmorrison14's comments: Iggy really fell off towards the end of the season and I think it's because he couldn't handle being a star. An extra year at Michigan and Coach Beilein will fix that right up. If he were to leave he seems to fit well in a Pacers jersey.
1 22Boston BostonShamorie Ponds PG St. John's
robmorrison14's comments: If BOS keeps Kyrie Irving, Ponds would be a good gamble. Someone to learn the game and when Kyrie leaves, you would have the next PG to take over for the franchise.
1 23Utah UtahRui Hachimura SF Gonzaga
robmorrison14's comments: A great SF is all that Utah is missing and Rui is the missing link for the Jazz to have one of the best starting five once GS breaks up this year.
1 24Philadelphia PhiladelphiaEric Paschall PF Villanova
robmorrison14's comments: Everyone is sleeping on Eric Paschall. His shot is really special and fits as a big in the NBA so well. Playing in Villanova, I think the 76ers would be open to take him as a bench guy.
1 25Portland PortlandTalen Horton-Tucker SG Iowa State
robmorrison14's comments: Talen is a great player to get for CLE. Turning 18 last November, Horton-Tucker already has the tools to be a star. I'd like to see him stay an extra year and become one of the best in the country. If he does leave the Cavs could develop him and he would be a huge part of the franchise along with Sexton and Barrett.
1 26Cleveland ClevelandKenny Wooten PF Oregon
robmorrison14's comments: Best available fit.
1 27Brooklyn BrooklynKeldon Johnson SF Kentucky
robmorrison14's comments: Best available fit.
1 28Golden State Golden StateBruno Fernando C Maryland
robmorrison14's comments: Boogie would be no more and Fernando is the next best big man in the NBA. The size, strength and athleticism of Bruno is unmatched in this draft class.
1 29San Antonio San AntonioCam Johnson SG UNC
robmorrison14's comments: Best available fit.
1 30Phoenix PhoenixLuka Samanic PF Spain
robmorrison14's comments: I've never really looked at Samanic as a first rounder, but PHX wants a PF and he is the next best fit at the position.
