SHOWING 1 OF 1 PROFILE

Like most taller cornerbacks, he has stiff hips. With this tightness, he struggles to change directions efficiently and with fluidity. I wouldn’t go as far to say he is a Press cornerback only because he has played well at all spots in the secondary, but in the NFL, he must learn how to efficiently use his feet and hips in coverage. NFL Comparison – Jimmy Smith, Baltimore Ravens * Like Smith, Maurice Canady is a long, angular cornerback with outstanding athletic ability that can dominate one half of the field in man coverage. Also like Smith, Canady will be relegated to Press coverage early on in his career because of the tightness he has in his hips to change directions efficiently in Off coverage. However, these kind of cornerbacks that have the trio of size, athletic ability, and upside are a rare breed to find in this day and age. So with that being said, expect Canady to rise up draft boards as time moves along in the college football season.
